Obama’s Turnout Pitch to Latinos:
Get Out There and Punish Your “Enemies”.
In a radio interview that aired on Univision on Monday, October 25, 2010, Mr. Obama sought to assure Hispanics that he would push an immigration overhaul after the midterm elections, despite fierce Republican opposition.
"If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, 'We're gonna punish our enemies [Republicans?] and we're gonna reward our friends [Democrats?] who stand with us on issues that are important to us,' if they don't see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it's gonna be harder and that's why I think it's so important that people focus on voting on November 2."
This is from the same Obama who once said, "When we get past the politics of division and distraction and we start actually focusing on what we have in common, there's nothing we can’t accomplish…"
Listen for yourself.
If you're a Liberal, you go on for 1:22 minutes, saying, among other things…
That a job can get created in a variety of ways…
That a job can get created by a variety of people…
That you have stood up for jobs
That we can and we should create more jobs by creative policies
That you know how Government can help preserve jobs
That you want more [Government] programs
That you want better tax policies
That you want stronger intervention by Government
But if you know anything about creating jobs, you know a job gets created by an entrepreneur, in the private sector – not by Government, not by creative policies, not by Government intervention, not by preservation, and not by standing up either.
